Hey guys here is a Check List:

  1. Visual inspection (the walk around) inspect the exterior of the vehicle – gaps and body lines anything that can indicate the car might of been in an accident.
  2. Inspection of the windshield: verify if it is cracked if so what caused the crack
  3. Visually inspect the tires : cracks and wear on the tires (evenly worn)
  4. Brakes : visually inspect the discs and pads if possible
  5. Suspension: verify the suspension for any loose or cracked components.
  6. Visual inspection under the hood: look for any leaks coming from the valve cover, antifreeze, brake lines

     – visually inspect the battery

     – air filter

-start the vehicle and listen to the engine for any abnormal sounds coming from the engine block or drive belts

  7. Verify exhaust for leaks and any rattling

  1. Verify brake lines and gas lines including gas tank under the vehicle
  2. Verify in the trunk: make sure there is a spare tire and the jack kit

Also verify no infiltration of water

   10. Road Test: Verify the smoothness of the transmission and the trans axles and any vibration.

   11. Verify Emergency Brake

   12. Verify the interior lights on the dashboard and centre console.

  • One major Tips I have is if in the end you decide to purchase the vehicle it is always a good idea to change all the fluids if they were not already done and remember you can always have the vehicle inspected by your mechanic.
  • Good luck!!!!
