Winterizing Your Car for Storage Checklist:
- Check oil and other fluids levels
- Verify for leaks
- Visual inspection of engine bay for anything out of the ordinary
- Verify suspension for any loose components
- Visual inspection of the brakes and braking components
- Verify exhaust and under carriage
- Verify tire wear/visually inspect your tire for un even wear and any cracks(Optional: put your car in jack stands / swap out rims and tires)
- Inflate tires to approx 45psi to avoid flat spots
- Install trickle charger if you can if not disconnect or remove battery
- Locate and write down your radio code if your vehicle is equipped with one
- Remove all personal items you think you might need while the car is in storage
- Wash the vehicle and get a good car cover
- Top off gas and make sure it is full to avoid humidity in the tank (added fuel stabilizer optional)
- Go on one last drive!!! Enjoy
- Make a list of the thing you saw that need attention in the spring when you take the car out of storage so you can schedule the necessary repairs
